Department Overview
The Global Models Audit (GMA) group is responsible for assessing design and operating effectiveness of controls designed for managing model risk; evaluating compliance of the Bank's model risk management practices with regulatory requirements, best market practices, and the Bank's model risk policies. The group is also serving as subject matter expert within Internal Audit to provide support to other audit groups in quantitative aspects when required. The models and methodologies include models used for valuation, risk measurement/management, regulatory/economic capital calculation/management, and performance measurement/management of financial products across the Bank and all types of risks (i.e., Market Risk, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity Risk, etc.).
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:

  • Job Details
    The intern/co-op will contribute to the on-time and quality delivery and execution of the annual audit plan.
    Specific tasks may include review of:
  • Model methodology & validation
  • Model limitations
  • Model implementation & execution
  • Model monitoring
  • Model governance and oversight

  • Job Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics and/or mathematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Highly inquisitive nature
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Keen learner with ability to absorb new information quickly

  • Other skills that would be an asset:
  • Understanding of financial modelling concepts
  • Academic research experience
  • Relevant programming experience (e.g. VBA, SAS, SQL, R, Matlab, C++, Python, etc.)
  • Understanding of Basel II/III Accord

  • This position is a 4-month work term and will commence May 6th to August 30th, 2024.
