Currently, our Corporate Affairs Division has opportunities for Government Relations Development Student position at our DOWNTOWN TORONTO OFFICE.
Available Work Terms: 4-months
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides confidential support to the Director of Government and Stakeholder Relations to maximize effective interactions with regulatory bodies and related government departments
  • Advocates the company’s priority legislative, regulatory, and policy interests with holders of public office to persuade them to support legislation favorable to company’s interest
  • Monitors and identifies key political developments, regulatory changes, policy developments and trends. Confers with the Director of Government and Stakeholder Relations and Director of Corporate Affairs if issues may impact (positively or negatively) the company business plan.
  • Supports the Corporate Affairs team at key government and stakeholder engagements and events as required.
  • Attends internal meetings as required and assists Corporate Affairs in engaging key stakeholders as directed.
  • Flexibility to travel outside the GTA on occasion is an asset.

  • A strong understanding of safety in the workplace
Education and Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary Business Administration or Commerce, Political Science, History or Government Studies program
  • Must have completed a minimum of one year post-secondary studies at the time of employment
  • Must be returning full-time immediately following the work term to post-secondary studies or be entering a co-op term to graduate
