What is the opportunity?

Ownr, an RBCx Ventures company, is hiring a Head of Marketing. Ownr is the leading platform for entrepreneurship in Canada. In this role, you will spearhead Ownr’s next phase of growth as we help thousands of entrepreneurs build and grow their business using Ownr’s comprehensive platform for business registration, insurance, and ongoing legal support.

As Head of Marketing, you will be directly responsible for a significant marketing budget, informing a product roadmap from a marketing perspective, and deploying resources to support a broad and ambitious growth strategy. You will head a team that manages of performance marketers, content marketers, and product marketers. As a key member of Ownr’s senior leadership team, you will collaborate with other leaders and apply your ideas and passion across the business.

What will you do?

As the Head of Marketing, you will be the driving force behind Ownr’s marketing and growth initiatives, steering the brand to new heights. Your role will include but not be limited to:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to bolster Ownr’s market presence and drive business growth.

  • Team Leadership: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing team, nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Product Marketing: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to optimize all platform elements from a marketing lens; create effective product marketing and go-to-marketing strategies; and launch new initiatives.

  • Performance & Content Marketing: Scale customer base through effective PPC campaigns, SEO, content marketing, and innovative customer acquisition tactics.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Build cross-functional relationships with other revenue-driving functions like Sales and Partnerships, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

  • Marketing Analytics: Implement advanced analytics and metrics to evaluate marketing performance and ROI.

  • Budget Ownership: Manage a significant direct marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation for maximum impact.

What will you need to succeed?

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in leadership roles, preferably in tech or startup environments.

  • Proven experience in executing high-impact digital marketing campaigns, SEO, SEM, and content marketing. A track record of driving significant user engagement and customer acquisition online.

  • Demonstrable experience in digital product marketing, specifically collaborating with technical teams to reach marketing objectives.

  • Proficient in SEO, content marketing, and data analytics.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Experience in building and nurturing teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate vision and strategy effectively to both internal teams and external partners.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
