The Academy of Learning Career College in Edmonton, AB is seeking a designated LPN orRN to fill its Health Care Aide Instructor position on a full-time basis. The Instructor’s key role is to lead and contribute to the academic success of students and to the success of the College in achieving its mission, vision, and statement of purpose. The successful candidate will lead the block of the In Class HCA Curriculum through theory and hands-on labs through to the Practicum part of the program. Part of this job is performed remotely. Labs are conducted on campus.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in instructor led orientation of new students online and/or by phone
- Answer emails in real-time or to engage in instant messaging with students
- Respond to student emails within 24 hours of receipt
- Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives, as set out in the Alberta Health Services curriculum face-to-face and/or online settings
- Participate in the development and evaluation of curriculum and instructional materials
- Prepare course outlines and teaching materials
- Evaluate student progress; generate, administer and mark student coursework and exams
- Monitor and discuss students’ progress at both an individual and group level
- Assign and post grades
- Hold consultations with weaker students to enhance learning
- Address attendance issues or other problems as they arise
- Administer reference and criminal checks as required

- Presentation and group facilitation skills

- Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.

Required Education / Experience:
- Related diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
- 3+years' experience as an LPN or RN
- LPN or RN active License
- Teaching experience is an asset
