Job Summary
The Healthcare Administrative Assistant works directly in the nursing office of our healthcare department and is responsible for our healthcare facility’s office and desk tasks. These tasks include answering phone calls made to the nursing station, managing medical appointment for the residents, working closely with licensed healthcare staff to process and receive medical orders, and managing the staff scheduling. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, organized, and an excellent communicator with outstanding interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in an office administrative role.
- Possess a high school diploma; certification in Medical Administration is considered an asset.
- Possess basic computer skills. Knowledge of programs including: Microsoft office, Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations and exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Adheres to all Windsor Court policies & procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks such as: filing, copy, fax, answering calls, etc.
- Dresses appropriately see policy: Uniform & Grooming Guidelines.
- Works closely with the LPN to assist with sending, receiving, and processing, medical orders.
- Receive and direct calls for nursing staff and maintain prompt communication.
- Initiate and maintain confidential medical files and records.
- Answer resident queries and ensure quality customer service.
- Communicate with residents, family members, pharmacies, & other members of the health care team in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maintain and organize computer spreadsheets and documents utilizing Microsoft office including Word and Excel.
- Responsible to maintain organization and cleanliness of nursing station.
- Responsible for staff schedule
- Order supplies and maintain inventory of healthcare department.
- Other duties as assigned by the Healthcare Manager, Healthcare Administrator and/or LPN.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.50-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
