Heavy Equipment Truck/Trailer Apprentice

Location: Aldersyde AB *20 minutes south of Calgary Must have reliable means of transportation

Position: Apprentice Heavy Equipment Truck/Trailer Technician 2nd, 3rd or 4th year

Mullen Dedicated Logistics, a division of Mullen Trucking Corp. provides a diversified transportation and logistics service to customers, including overnight service between Calgary and Vancouver. Mullen Dedicated specializes in ground transportation, air and ocean freight and scheduled LTL ground service to major centers including Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Banff.

Full time, permanent with a modified schedule – 4 day week 10.25 hours shifts starts at 6:45am ends at 5:00pm

$26.43 - $34 per hour

Responsibilities:

The duties listed below while not complete, are intended to demonstrate the scope of this position.

• Correct all equipment deficiencies and perform preventative maintenance tasks on company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform thorough inspections of equipment and identify required repairs.
• Perform routine and specific maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Perform CVIP inspections as required.
• Adhere to Government of Alberta DOT and Mullen Trucking Standards

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician, 2+ years of experience preferred, CVIP licensed or willing to obtain upon hire.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workload, good record keeping, complete time sensitive repairs while working with a diverse group of internal customers

· Professional, tenacious, organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office; knowledge of Truckmate an asset

· Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and as part of a team; establish good working relationships with all team members and other department

· Minimum Class 5 license with no restrictions

As this is a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates selected for hire must successfully pass pre-employment testing drug screen (Cannabis included)
