Description
As a cleaning technician for the Company, the successful applicant will work to improve and maintain the hygiene of clients’ homes. More specifically, s/he will dust, wipe, scrub, vacuum, mop, shine, disinfect, and deodorize surfaces within various residential settings so that those spaces are conducive to happy, healthy, productive, fulfilled lives. S/he might also tidy homes, water houseplants, and/or empty the trash in the same houses. The cleaning technician must produce high-quality results while maintaining an exemplary safety record, and will be rewarded for doing so with highly competitive compensation surpassing the industry average, including gas allowance. Future opportunities for advancement may be available to a successful cleaning technician. The successful applicant will work casual, part time hours, beginning with approximately 3-5 hours per week, increasing over time. A full-time position will likely be available in the coming months should the successful applicant be interested in full-time hours. Experience is an asset but is not required, as training will be provided. Stamina and physical ability to complete residential cleaning projects in a timely manner is crucial. Punctuality and dependability is also extremely important.
Qualifications
- Experience in a residential, commercial, or industrial cleaning role is an asset but not required
- Experience in hotel housekeeping, cleaning on a cruise ship, or auto detailing is also an asset but not required
- Punctuality and dependability is critical
- Stamina and physical ability to complete residential cleaning in a timely manner is important
- Background check is required — the successful applicant must be bondable/insurable
- First aid and/or workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS) training are assets, but not required
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision is essential
- Professional appearance and presentation is required
- Courteous and friendly disposition is a must, as customer service is of utmost importance
- Reliable transportation in and around southwest Edmonton is required — a clean driving abstract is an asset
- Professional references are requested
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality is imperative
- Commitment, work ethic, and attitude are highly valued
- Wide availability or an open schedule are pluses
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to work effectively with a team are assets
- Organizational skills will be useful
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a smartphone, are an asset
- Comfort with pets, especially dogs, is important
- Fluency with a second language, particularly French or Mandarin, is a plus
- Skill folding towel animals or origami is a bonus, but not required
