Housekeeper (Casual)

As a member of the housekeeping team, this individual is to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, employees, families and all Hospice visitors. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required, as well as, following procedures and policies established by Alberta Health Services guidelines.

Role Includes:

• Perform cleaning duties that include, but not limited to:
• Dusting, disinfecting, mopping and vacuuming in all areas of the hospice
• Cleaning resident rooms
• Disinfecting beds and rooms between admissions
• Assume any other related duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper

Job Requirements:

• Must be physically fit, able to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods of time
• Must be aware of one’s own limitations and strengths in emotionally sensitive situations and be able to react calmly
• Flexible and adaptable in a new and changing environment while maintaining a feeling of peace and comfort in the hospice home
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Must be reliable and punctual
• Willing to complete additional palliative care training

Shifts:

• 7:30am – 3:30pm
• Shifts include weekdays and weekends

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a health care environment is preferred.

Hiring Requirements:

• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search.
