As a member of the housekeeping team, this individual is to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, employees, families and all Hospice visitors. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is required, as well as, following procedures and policies established by Alberta Health Services guidelines.
Role Includes:
- Perform cleaning duties that include, but not limited to:
- Dusting, disinfecting, mopping and vacuuming in all areas of the hospice
- Cleaning resident rooms
- Disinfecting beds and rooms between admissions
- Assume any other related duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper
Job Requirements:
- Must be physically fit, able to lift heavy loads and stand for long periods of time
- Must be aware of one’s own limitations and strengths in emotionally sensitive situations and be able to react calmly
- Flexible and adaptable in a new and changing environment while maintaining a feeling of peace and comfort in the hospice home
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Willing to complete additional palliative care training
Shifts:
- 7:30am – 3:30pm
- Shifts include weekdays and weekends
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in a health care environment is preferred.
Hiring Requirements:
