Position Summary
Reporting to the Human Resources Vice President, the HR Administrator will assist with the general administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department with a focus on recruiting/onboarding, WSIB/leave management, attendance/disciplines, and employee relations.
Position Functions
Responsible for leading the Recruitment process for hourly and salaried employees. This includes managing the daily interactions with various employment agencies.
Responsible for leading the onboarding process for new employees including testing, orientations, probationary period evaluations and tracking.
Prepare offers of employment.
Tracking of labour for facilities including facilitating layoffs, recalls, bumping and job postings.
Maintain and assist with WSIB claims/files
Maintain and assist in the development of company job descriptions.
Track hourly employee attendance weekly
Assist with preparing disciplinary letters and termination letters.
Provide support and guidance to managers and employees as needed.
Participate in other HR initiatives that may arise.
Potentially travel to various Salit Steel locations and other destinations as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Post-Secondary education in Human Resources
3-5 years’ experience in a HR Generalist role preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Familiar with HRIS systems, preferably Ceridian/Dayforce
Proficient in Google Suites
Union experience preferred
3 years experience in Talent Acquisition/Recruitment
Knowledge of Canadian Employment Law
