We are seeking a Human Resources Analystto support our Human Resources team by providing providing analytics, reporting and process management for the division. The role is a valued thought leader, advancing new ideas around automation, process improvement, integrations, and value-added reporting. Responsibilities:
What You’ll Be Doing

HR Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Oversee corporate metrics (i.e. monthly headcount, employee turnover) and provide detailed analysis reports at the end of each quarter, including recommendations to reduce employee turnover.
  • Conduct monthly and/or quarterly audits to improve and maintain accuracy in our reporting (i.e. Title Audits, Vacation Eligibility Audits, GRRSP Eligibility Audits, etc.).
  • Vacation liability reporting on a monthly or quarterly basis, as required.
  • Assist with Total Compensation reporting for salaried employees on an annual basis.
  • Assist with recording and analysis of Human Resources Compensation completed reviews when required.
  • Assist with Compensation with completion and submission of benchmarking surveys
  • Participate in the development and on-going maintenance of the Human Resources information system and reporting capability, including process mapping and communication and selection of data fields for reporting. Update and maintain HR systems as appropriate by reporting, tracking, and analyzing data.
  • Proactively help identify and implement ideas for improving efficiencies through processes/tasks/activities.
  • Develop and conduct employee surveys to be administered throughout the employee lifecycle. Prepare reports on trends and opportunities resulting from survey data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare data in preparation of collection bargaining and provide costing analysis during the collective bargaining process. Research Collective Agreements for estimating costing purposes.
  • Participation in ad hoc projects, including testing, reporting and analysis as required by the HR team.

HR Program and Service Support
  • Conventional administrative responsibilities, producing correspondence, developing and maintaining spreadsheets, department intranet page, and document control.
  • Prepare reports and general communications, often with minimal direction or supervision regarding team and corporate communications.
  • Proactively deal with complex issues with the utmost of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Assist in final preparation of HR policies and/or guidelines for CEO and Board of Directors approval, when required. Corresponding with internal contacts to ensure organizational procedures are followed.
  • Oversee code of conduct affirmations, ensuring that new employees sign the affirmation within their first month as well as ensuring that all employees complete the annual reaffirmation process.

Qualifications:
What Makes You the ONE

  • Two years’ experience in a Human Resources-related function (recruitment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, payroll, or HRIS).
  • Three (3) years’ experience in data analysis, preferably in a Human Resources environment.
  • Experience working with HRIS such as Oracle, Ceridian, JDE.
  • Experience working in a mining or construction environment would be an asset.
  • University degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Knowledge of the Human Resources functions, including employee relations, policy development, communications, compensation, benefits and performance management.
  • Proficiency with a HRIS environment, preferably JDE and/or SAP.
  • Highly proficient in Excel (Pivots, VLOOKUP).
  • Previous experience working with data analytics platforms such as Power BI is an asset.
  • Ability to engage others effectively through a confident, collaborative and convincing style.
  • Ability to influence and communication with a diverse client group.
  • Demonstrated degree of commitment and initiative, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and an ability to function both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products such as Word, PowerPoint
  • Must possess and use excellent communication skills to write and convey information.
  • High degree of customer service focus and skill.
