Position Title: SCM Business Analyst (18 Month Term)
Team and Location: Supply Chain Management - Calgary, AB
Salary: $95,000peryear
Position Summary:
This position plays a key role in supporting the Supply Chain team and their Business Partners to improve the Parkland's business performance and to improve efficiency and effectiveness of supply chain operations through data collection, analysis and reporting. This role will participate in large- and small-scale projects acting as a SCM representative. The Business Analyst will be focused on end-to-end process, understanding business requirements and the impacts of systems and financial transactions. Additionally, the Business Analyst will play a key role in organizing, sharing, gathering and validating financial data, supporting and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives being able to link back to why certain requirements are in place, participating in change management and internal communication. This position understands the underlying business, overall requirements of a publicly traded organization and related technical processes of the systems that capture third party goods and services spend and is involved whenever the Business or IT requires changes to those system that will impact the validity of spend data. This role will also provide support to users of related supply chain systems such as the source to pay system and the contracts lifecycle management system. This role will provide support to develop the long term supply chain technology roadmap for Parkland.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Reporting and Analysis
- Provide support/assistance to the Supply Chain team and Business Partners through data capture, data analysis and understanding of supply chain transactions.
- Gather and analyze global transactional data (purchase orders, requisitions, invoice, spend and inventory) data from different systems to cleanse and summarize for strategic planning and reporting.
- Support internal and external stakeholders with requests for specific supply chain data
- Collect and regularly report on key supply chain metrics (e.g. Category, Sustainability, Indigenous and/or Diverse spend)
- Assist SCM team members with data collection/reporting for ad-hoc initiatives or requests
- Ensure regular updates to SCM spend and key performance indicator dashboards and make modifications as required either through self performance or working with other personnel with the necessary expertise as required.
- Work with multiple functional area owners to identify opportunity within various business teams and processes using Lean Six Sigma practices
- Support the implementation of changes to execute efficiencies, eliminate redundancies and streamline workflows
- Participate in problem solving discussions and review solutions to management team
- Support the development and maintenance of process improvement policies and procedures
- Document existing state and future state processes, procedures, policies, and cross functional work flows as derived from project meetings and discussions
- Build and Maintain dashboards, SharePoint and Smart Sheet sites for Supply Chain
- Participate in discussions, support action resolution for the broader team
- Actively support any data collection and review required for special projects (i.e. Next Gen)
- Maintain Teams set up, communication, apps as required
- Identify and monitor dependencies across initiatives within Supply Chain and communicate or provide recommendations for mitigation
- Communicate and report project/initiative status, progress, challenges, and successes on a regular basis
- Help to define, document and support systematic roll-out of supply chain improvement initiatives
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure the adoption of new improvement strategies
- Participate and document the development of metrics required to validate implemented process improvements and key milestones within and at completion of projects
- Create communication for Supply Chain and relevant Business Partners during and at completion of initiatives and projects
- Post completion updates and milestones for initiatives and projects
- Build strong relationships with the Supply Chain, Finance and Finance Shared Services teams, understand the business needs, changes and processes
- Build strong partnership with each business division and shared services team to ensure that the supply chain is a key service provider
- Ensure excellent strategic customer interaction and operational customer interaction
- Clear, concise, timely communication as needed
- College/University/Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain (equivalent combination of work experience and education may be considered).
- Advanced computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SAP).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimum direction in a team environment.
- Moderate experience in procurement, contract management, requisition writing, PO writing, and invoice management.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP and Oracle preferred).
- Lead six sigma white belt within 12 months of starting in role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics life cycles
- Extensive application skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams , Power BI and Smartsheet
- Experience with Power Query, Power BI or SQL
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of workshops
- Experience in business and systems transformation
- Ability to work in a high-pressure and dynamic environment delivering projects in a highly professional manner while following strict timelines
