Position Summary:
Painter/Sandblasters operate all sandblasting and water-blasting high-pressure equipment safely and operate high-pressure spray painting equipment and handling of paint thinners.
Responsibilities:
- Select appropriate paint or mix paint according to guidelines and specifications
- Operate high-pressure paint guns or other mechanized painting applications
- Hand rolls or brushes, scrape, sand and prepare all surfaces before application
- Apply paint to stencils, decals, water depth lines and markings as required
- Clean and maintain equipment (guns, paint room, sandblasting pots)
- Ensure proper storage and cleaning of personal respiratory mask
- Tape or mask off painted areas as required
- All other duties as requested or assigned
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma (OSSD)
- Two years previous spray painting experience
- Sandblasting experience and knowledge required
- Knowledge of temperature and moisture readings for best applications
- Experience with self contained breathing and helmet apparatus procedures
- Experience with sand/blast pots and hoppers
