Industrial Painter - Work Shop Based

Arctech Welding + Machining is currently looking for an experienced and energetic Industrial Painter to join our production team at our facility in Fort St John, British Columbia. This position requires experience with the application of industrial paint systems on both structural steelwork and process piping. A NACE Level 1 Certificate would be a highly desirable asset to possess, but it is not mandatory. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work to deadlines, work independently as well as in a team environment, learn quickly, possess a strong focus on safety policies and procedures, and work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time, non-unionized position. All work is to be completed in our Fort St John workshop facility.

Skills/Experience:

• Proven ability to apply basic single stage paint systems to specifications

• Proven ability to apply complex multi-component coating systems to specifications

• Proven ability to apply 100% volume solids paint systems using a plural spray component system

• Proven ability to apply internal coatings to process piping components

• Working knowledge of airless spray systems

• Proven ability to apply enamel paint products using the airless spray system

• Proven ability to apply both epoxy and urethane paint products using the airless spray system

• Familiarity with job specific painting practices, relative to surface preparation requirement, coating requirements, and elements specific to application

• Experience in sand blasting and painting in an industrial environment (preferred)

• Strong focus on safety policies and procedures

• Strong attention to detail

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Ability to prioritize

Job Type: Full-time, permanent (subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period)

Qualifications:

The suitable applicant should possess the following qualifications;

• 5 years proven experience in the industrial painting & sand blasting field

• 5 years proven experience in the automotive industry (this applicant would also be considered for the position)

• Own vehicle or a reliable means of getting to and from work

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License

• NACE Level 1 Certification (desirable but not mandatory)

Salary: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
