Industrial Painter/Sandblaster

Zanron is actively looking for a Journeyperson Painter/Sandblasterwith industrial experience to join our expanding and busy unionized shop in Kitimat, BC.

Our scope of work primarily encompasses the sandblasting and painting of the following structural items: Handrail, stairs, containers, tanks, beams, columns, trusses, bracing, anchor bolts, catwalks, platforms.

Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:

• Prepping materials for sandblasting or coating – including removing previous paint surfaces
• Disassembling products in preparation for sandblast/paint and reassembling after completion
• Masking of materials
• Maintaining equipment required for the job
• Safely and properly storing and disposing of chemical waste
• Using instruments to ensure specifications and quality are met
• Completion of Quality Control documents
• Read and interpret specifications to ensure all requirements are met

Qualifications and Skills:

• Red Seal Ticket
• 2 years industrial painting experience
• Familiar with Industrial Paint Codes and Standards
• Familiar with all spraying and sandblasting equipment
• High attention to detail is required to achieve quality standards
• NACE ticket would be considered an asset
• Pre-access Drug and Alcohol screening is required
