Premium Brands is a publicly traded food company (TSX: PBH) that owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses across Canada and the United States. In addition, the Company owns proprietary food distribution and wholesale networks through which it sells both its own products and those of third parties.
Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant and based in the head office in Richmond B.C, the Junior Corporate Accountant is a key part of the Corporate Finance team. The Junior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day to day accounts payable operations related to the Company’s corporate entities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support vendors and teammates with excellent customer service regarding accounts payable related queries, ensuring responses and resolutions are made in a timely manner
- Verify, process and pay vendor invoices while adhering to internal controls and vendor terms
- Route invoices for approval and work closely with other departments to maintain smooth process with accurate tracking, ensuring invoices are coded with high level of precision
- Process weekly payments (cheque, EFT, and other manual payments) and track voids, refunds, and other account irregularities
- Assist with the Company’s intercompany process related to cost reimbursements and allocations
- Assist in the full-cycle accounting process including the preparation of monthly journal entries and GL reconciliations
- Consolidate divisional business information for quarter-end working papers for the financial statements and MD&A
- Support for other accounting and administrative functions as assigned
Skills and Experiences
- In possession of a recognized university degree with a specialization in accounting
- Accounts payable experience is not required but considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Office Suite particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook
- An open and articulate communicator with strong analysis, presentation and written communication skills
- An individual not afraid to bring forth innovative ideas and be considered an enabler who champions best practices to promote organizational effectiveness. Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance, continual improvement, elimination of waste, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines

Expected Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $45,000 - $50,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, and market conditions for the role.
