Job summary

We’re looking for a dynamic leader to join our Finance and Accounting team in the role of Manager, Corporate Accountingand Consolidation. Reporting to the Director, Global Corporate Controller, the Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidation will be responsible for the overall consolidation process, review of inter-company transactions and profit eliminations, corporate consolidations accounting, consolidated general ledger and ownership of the consolidated trial balance. This is inclusive of ensuring proper accounting for Aurora’s corporate transactions, accrual calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations.


The Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidation will coordinate, manage and support monthly consolidation close activities for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. Using a firm understanding of our entity structure, general ledger and financial systems, the Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidation will drive process improvements and efficiencies while ensuring the integrity of the process and data. This position partners with the entire Corporate Accounting team, finance, and business units to support the consolidations and internal/external reporting processes.


As a Manager, Corporate Accounting and Consolidation you have…

  • Managed and provided oversight of daily, month end/quarter end/year end consolidated closing procedures and special transactions across Accounting / Finance, including facilitating review meetings and analytics, ensuring results are accurate and timely;
  • Reviewed reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy and delivery of accurate financial statements;
  • Supported preparation of financial reporting, including internal and external statements.
  • Coordinated with external auditors on quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Ensured new accounting pronouncements and accounting treatments related to new and existing transactions are appropriately applied by the various entities within the company.
  • Reviewed reconciliations prepared by other team members, ensuring completeness and accuracy across the trial balance, and delivery of accurate financial statements;
  • Ensured all journal entries are IFRS and SOX compliant;
  • Coordinated with the leadership team of Corporate Finance to ensure timely, complete and accurate delivery of financial information and results for monthly and quarterly consolidation
  • Actively lead and participate in process improvement initiatives and technology enhancements
  • Overseed the training for new and existing staff as required, continuous performance management, coaching and on-going support and development of the team;
  • Responded to inquiries and provide ad hoc reporting as needed; and
  • Performed related duties as assigned.


You would be the best fit for this role if you have…

  • 7+ years practical work experience working for a publicly traded company, or Big-4 accounting firm with at least 2 years of management responsibility in industry
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidation for a global organization, familiarity with intercompany transactions, revaluation, translation, and financial reporting
  • CPA designation
  • Demonstrated success in relationship and stakeholder management of various levels and functions; proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt as well as maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Self-motivated and customer focused with strong problem-solving skills and strong level of accountability, strives to meet and exceed expectations
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • A trusted professional with a high level of integrity and attention to detail when completing tasks and following routines
