Junior School Learning Support Specialist

The Position: 

As a Junior School Learning Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively with the Junior School Student Support Services Department, administration and faculty to implement the School’s approach to supporting students. Through this knowledge, you will enhance each teacher’s ability to provide a differentiated approach to classroom instruction and innovative solutions to learning challenges experienced by students. You will work with individual students to help them acquire skills and strategies that capitalize on their strengths and accommodate their challenges. Students will find you to be approachable, available, genuine and supportive. Parents will find you to be trustworthy, reliable and knowledgeable. Through regular updates to Junior School Head of Student Support Services, you will keep the administration informed on students’ individual progress and best practices in special education. As a life-long learner, you will demonstrate a commitment to actively seeking professional development. You will participate actively in the life of the school.
