We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and providing excellent customer service. The primary role is to assemble charcuterie boards for the tasting room, adding a creative flair with in-house additions to the boards. You will report to the Tasting Room Manager and work with the tasting room team.
This is an opportunity to work with food but as part of a small, fun team in daytime hours: the typical shifts would be 11am-5pm. Previous commercial kitchen experience is essential and the salary will depend on experience.
Start date is in May, the season runs into late fall.

Quick Summary of Responsibilities
- Prepare food plates, shared platters and limited menu items for tasting room customers
- Slicing meats, cheeses, and preparing condiments for service
- Preparation of in-house condiments and other food items
- Operate the dishwasher and polish glasses
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area including end of day closing, daily food safety records
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
- Work closely with management and be comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions when in doubt
Qualifications
- Ability to work Saturdays (and Sundays of Holiday weekends) plus at least one weekday
- Previous commercial kitchen experience
- Food Safety Certificate
- Possess your own transportation (there is no public transport) and local accommodation
- Outgoing, can-do, eager to learn attitude
- Comfortable dealing with clients face-to-face in an outgoing manner
- Able to lift 50lbs (case of wine)
- A good sense of humour is a must!
