Lead Receiver

Full Time Lead Receiver for Mission Thrift Store Hamilton

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To unload and receive donations. Distribute said goods to proper department or area. This position will be Tuesday to Saturday.

The Lead Receiver will report to the Store Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

· Receive donations, assist in the unloading of donations.

· Basic sorting of donations to ascertain what department they go to.

· Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, inside as well as outside.

· Maintain clear aisles in the receiving and backroom area.

· Assist in loading and counting recycled bags.

· Maintains a SAFE work environment.

· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees and volunteers.

· Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge

The Lead Receiver must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

· Demonstrates strong organizational skills.

· Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move furniture and heavy items received by the store.

· Works well with a team.

· Communicates clearly and effectively.

· Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.

· Possesses basic math skills.

· Handles discrepancies calmly and politely.

· Demonstrates solid problem-solving skills.

· Experience working with volunteers.

· Time Management skills.

· Labor and warehouse experience in a retail setting.

· Experience with non-profit/voluntary sector would be considered an asset.

Essential Functions

· Attendance at work and punctuality is an essential function of this position.

· Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, lifting, and work in hot or cold temperatures.

· Have a valid Ontario Driver’s License and a clean driving record (not required, but an asset)

· Working conditions: both indoors and outdoors.

This is a full-time position. This position is at our Mission Thrift Store Hamilton location at 601 Upper Gage Ave, Hamilton, ON.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
