If you are a Life Enrichment worker with passion and a heart that is motivated to provide the best support and care for residents in a Long Term Care setting, we want to hear from you. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to provide Life Enrichment programming for a wide range of cognitive and physical abilities. You'll have the opportunity to assist with activities of daily living (such as the dining experience), provide 1:1 programming, and adapt on the fly to unpredictable changes to Residents' daily routines.
Qualifications:
- Have a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university
- Long Term Care Experience in Life Enrichment (including a working knowledge of recreation and leisure, therapeutic programs, restorative care and volunteerism) required
- Restorative Care training is an asset
- Computer Skills (Email, Word, Care Planning, Graphics)
- First Aid (every 3 years) and CPR Training (annually)
- Food Handler’s Course (every 5 years)
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Ability to communicate well with others
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or assist in program development, implementation, documentation and evaluation in Long Term Care home
- Lead and/or assist group activity programs
- Lead and/or assist one on one activity programs
- Assist residents to and from activity programs
- Ability to assess, document and care plan residents’ recreation, leisure, therapeutic and restorative care needs
- Ability to function in all aspects of Life Enrichment including recreation and leisure, therapeutic programs, restorative care and volunteerism
