Lift Operator And Rental Technician

Rental technicians assist the guest in the set-up of their ski or snowboard equipment. This includes choosing the correct equipment for the guest based on the guest’s level of ability. This includes informing the guest of activities or special events across the resort as well as any other resort information the guest may require.

Job Responsibilities

• To provide a high-quality experience for the guest by selecting rental equipment that will best fit their needs based on their level of ability.
• Providing the guests with the proper product knowledge based on the equipment issued to them.
• Set equipment for the guest based on the guest’s height, weight, and ability.
• Inform the guest of how to operate the equipment as well as any other resort information the guest may require.
• Ensure proper equipment rental procedures are followed with each guest; waiver is filled out, equipment is all scanned to their file and DINs are set correctly on skis.
• Maintain the cleanliness (may include tidying, cleaning floors, removing garbage from the building) of the shop and proper storage of all equipment.
• May be required to work outdoors at times.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the rental supervisor or team leader.

Job Specifications, Standards, and Requirements

• Able to lift 30lbs.
• Able to work with co-workers in a cooperative, friendly manner.
• Must be customer service oriented. Friendly, outgoing.
• Must have the ability to communicate confidently, make eye-to-eye contact with the guest
• Must move with a sense of urgency comparable to business levels.
• Must remain focused & be thorough with assigned tasks.
• Punctuality & an excellent record of attendance are required.
• Must achieve an 80% or higher on the binding manufacturer exam.
• The ability to multi-task & prioritize tasks.
• The ability to maintain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.

Position Reports to Rentals or Lift Operator Supervisor

The Lift Operators are responsible operating the alpine lifts in a safe and courteous manner. Working alone or in pairs, they need to ensure guests board, ride and disembark the lift according to safety standards. This includes successfully completing and passing a lift operations training session and exam, and applying what is learned consistently. Lift Operators ensure tools, loading and unloading areas, and lift huts are kept tidy and organized. They greet guests in a friendly manner and assist guests with any questions they may have. Just like all Calabogie Peaks Resort Colleagues, Lift Operators are responsible for ensuring the health and safety of themselves, fellow colleagues and guests.

• Greet, acknowledge and assist guests in a courteous manner
• Verify that guests have the appropriate lift tickets purchased for the lift
• Engage with guests

Qualifications

• Operator minimum age: 16
• Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours, while standing outdoors in all weather conditions (cold, windy, snowing).
• Be flexible with their schedule and have open availability, working weekday, weekend, and holidays
• Be able to twist, bend and reach while paying sustained attention to the operation of the lift and the movements of the guests.
