Job Summary:
As a Scissor Lift Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining Scissor Lifts to facilitate various tasks in an industrial setting. Your role involves safely maneuvering the Scissor Lift to elevate workers, materials, or equipment to designated heights, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations. Additionally, you will conduct routine inspections, perform maintenance tasks, and assist with other duties on-site as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Scissor Lifts to transport materials, or equipment to elevated work areas.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct pre-operational checks on the Scissor Lift, including inspecting controls, brakes, steering, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating components, checking fluid levels, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure operational efficiency.
- Follow work orders, blueprints, or instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor surroundings for potential hazards, such as overhead obstacles, uneven surfaces, or electrical hazards.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to site-specific regulations and procedures while operating the Scissor Lift.
- Assist with general labor duties, such as loading/unloading materials, cleaning work areas, or organizing tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Scissor Lift Operator certification/license.
- Proven experience operating Scissor Lifts in construction, warehouse, or industrial environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to Scissor Lift operation.
- Ability to interpret and follow work orders, blueprints, or instructions accurately.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
- Willingness to undergo additional training or certifications as required.
