I am accompanying one of our clients in the food industry, located in the west end of Montreal, in their search for a Logistics and Warehouse Manager.
Main responsibilities :
Distribution & Warehouse:
-Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, stocking and order fulfillment;
-Supervise shipping and logistics, in coordination with carriers and freight forwarders;
-Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards;
-Optimize warehouse layout for efficient use of space;
-Manage inventory tracking systems and cyclical stocktaking.
Production management:
-Lead the production team to optimize processes, improve output and maintain product quality;
-Monitor production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of product;
-Implement lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and improve productivity;
-Work closely with purchasing and planning team suppliers for components and maintain inventory levels;
-Ensure HACCP, SQF, CNESST programs are implemented, maintained and updated;
-Develop and maintain positive employee relations.
Leadership and personnel development:
Lead a cross-functional team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement;
-Coach and develop team members, promoting a culture of excellence;
-Ensure that workforce planning meets demand;
-Manage performance indicators (KPIs) and operational targets;
-Manage the quarterly and annual budget process;
-Assume responsibility for profit and loss (P&L) related to warehouse operations;
Optimize efficiency:
-Monitor performance metrics to identify efficiency issues;
-Propose solutions to improve productivity and profitability;
-Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or related field;
-Minimum 5 years experience in production, warehouse management or distribution;
-Proven experience in successfully managing complex supply chains
-Familiarity with ERP systems and Warehouse management software;
-Experience in Six Sigma or Lean principles (an asset);
Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong ability to multi-task;
-Strong leadership skills and ability to drive change;
-Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills;
-Bilingualism required, both written and spoken;
-Affinity for learning and drive for continuous improvement.
PROCESS: Initial interview with Gabriel Lemoine, Fed Supply Recruitment Consultant - followed by an interview with the company's Human Resources Manager and Position Manager.
