Type of Employment: Full time, hourly, permanent and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Monitor and Operate TMS (Transportation Management System) and various Customer web portals.
- Scheduling customer delivery appointments and carrier pick up times
- Constant proactive monitoring of the transportation network looking for potential failures and optimizations
- Tracking outbound loads due for delivery and actively engage any carrier service failures. Escalating as necessary
- Booking customer delivery appointments based on customer profile and Outbound Planner sequencing
- High frequency communication with Mucci DC Operations advising of any reschedules, deliveries that will miss appointment. Proactively communicating where possible.
- Actively rescheduling, adjusting loads based on operational activities
- Supporting In and Out bound load planners
- Scheduling redirects and working with Sales on repositioning of rejected product.
- Escalating and logging carrier performance concerns to Outbound planner and manager to ensure service issues are communicated
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1 – 3 years logistics or related experience
- Ability to work independently, employing critical thinking skills. This is a very tactical role.
- Ability to reprioritize frequently based on tactical needs
- Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively under pressure
- Sense of urgency. This role is a trigger point for service failures. Rapid communication around service failures is a core of this role. Rejections and Missed Delivery Appts
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English
- Ability to perform repetitive communications and follow up to drive outstanding transportation issues to conclusion
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Outlook is required
- Ability to work with independently and within a team setting.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and deal with time sensitive deadlines and priorities.
- A flexible work schedule including extended hours and weekends.
- Post secondary education in a related field will be considered an asset.
Physical Abilities: Must be able to sit and work at a desk for extend periods of time.
