Loss Prevention Representative

Usborne and Hibbert (U&H) Mutual Fire Insurance Company is seeking applications for the permanent full-time position of Loss Prevention Representative. This opportunity will appeal to an independent self-starter providing risk management services to the policy holders, working closely with the Underwriting Department and reporting to the Underwriting Manager.

Responsibilities

· Risk assessment inspections of farm, residential and commercial properties

· Provide Loss Prevention recommendation to policy holders

· Compiles and prepares the risk assessment documentation, including thermal images, digital photographs, site diagrams, etc.

· Contributes to the development of loss control procedures and guidelines

· Act as a technical resource, supporting the Underwriting Department

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience in construction guidelines, specific to the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Ontario Fire Code, environmental and safety regulations as it relates to farm, residential and commercial properties
• Knowledge of farming operations required
• Knowledge of solid fuel heating systems, WETT certification would be an asset
• Experience working with thermal imaging and photography equipment an asset
• Ability to work independently – prioritize work load, organize time effectively
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with policy holders, agents & brokers
• Superior communication, listening, documentation and computer skills
• Valid Drivers licence and reliable vehicle required

Current Salary Range is $70,000 - $90,000. A comprehensive pension and benefit package is provided.
