Lumber Yard Attendant

Duration: Full Time, Permanent (3 months probationary period)

Salary: Dependant on experience and performance

Company Background: Freymond Lumber operates a sawmill in Bancroft, Ontario producing high quality lumber from wood harvested in a responsible manner from local forests. We have been manufacturing both hardwood and softwood lumber since 1946. We sell truckload quantities of green, graded lumber, cants and ties. Our wood supply is sourced from our own harvesting operations on both Crown Forests and private woodlots and purchased from local logging contractors and landowners.

Position Summary: Freymond Lumber is seeking a Lumber Yard Attendant.

This Lumber Yard Attendant position is part of the backbone of our operations. It includes preparing materials to be shipped while keeping the yard clean, helping walk-in customers and assisting on offsite deliveries.

Primary Responsibilities

• Customer Service, load materials, fills orders, assist customers.

• Support existing and new lines of product, warehousing, stocking.

• Preparing orders for delivery.

• Unload orders and products as needed.

• Work with fellow staff to ensure yard and warehouse is neat clean and tidy which includes sweeping & picking up strapping and garbage.

• Regular stocking and replenishment of lumber and other products.

• Have the flexibility to work in any other temporary assignment as designated by manager.

• Operate lift truck.

• Treat company’s property, vehicles & inventory with respect, care & safety.

• Assist in building, designing & executing special projects as needed.

• Treat customers with dignity and respect.

Requirements:

• Experience with lumber or woodworking products and services

• Be able to work in a fast paced and constantly changing retail environment.

• Work well independently and with a team.

• Motivated, self disciplined individual with a strong work ethic.

• Ability to listen and understand customer needs.

• Clean driving abstract and Valid G Driving license.

• Ability to lift 35 to 40 kg articles.

• Physically fit to handle outdoor weather conditions and diversified temperatures.

• Show up to work on time and ready to work.
