Machine Operator/Production Associate/Warehouse

Job Summary:

We are an established local manufacturer and wholesale company looking for a Production Associate/Weaving Machine Operator to join our team at our Maple Ridge, B.C. branch.

This is a unique role in fence manufacturing and will require some on the job training for a detailed and safety orientated person. To be successful in this role you are someone who takes pride in maintaining your equipment with regular inspections and cleaning. You enjoy preparing for a successful day as much as you enjoy meeting your goals and producing quality mesh fencing. 90% of your day will be operating a chain link weaving machine.

The Production Associate/Weaving Machine Operator will be responsible for the continuous-operation manufacturing of strand wire into woven chain link fencing.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the production of quality mesh fencing
• Ensure the machine and working area is clean and clear of debris
• Ensure the daily routine maintenance, oiling, greasing has been done
• Ensure the machine is adjusted and in proper working order while in use
• Ensure the appropriate wire has been pulled and ready for production
• Ensure the rolls coming off the machine are in good order
• Stack, align, and strap rolls to pallet for shipping
• Adhere to safety protocol and attend required safety meetings
• Meet assigned production goals
• Understand and follow QC guidelines
• Assist shipping and receiving with loading and unloading trucks when necessary
• Assist shipping and receiving with putting received stock in its appropriate location
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Responsible, organized, detail oriented and reliable team player
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work is a must
• Able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative
• General math skills required, including the ability to read and effectively use a tape measure
• Mechanically inclined familiar with cutting tools and equipment
• Able to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum of 50lbs
• Forklift experience an asset
• Shipping and receiving experience an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.50-$24.93 per hour
