What You’ll Do:


  • Manages and trains Distribution Centre personnel to meet established shipment and compliance requirements of RM and FSG through the distribution center, from receiving, to processing, to shipping to internal/external customers
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining an open, engaging employee relations environment which remains issue free.
  • Lead DC team with implementation of best practices throughout the distribution process
  • Manage to enhance team skills and competencies to establish team performance objectives.
  • Provide leadership and management for all activities of the distribution center
  • Selects, motivates, and trains qualified management staff.
  • Partners with People/Culture Department regarding reviews, interviewing, hiring, terminations, and corrective counseling within DC.
  • Drive performance for on-time delivery, warehouse inventory management, productivity and quality, and workforce planning requirements
  • Act as a coordinator for all physical inventories
  • Work closely and develop strong relationships with internal/external customers
  • Participate in preparing fiscal budgets.
  • Maintain control of all expenses relating to the operation of the warehouse and distribution functions.
  • Oversee the evaluation, selection and replacement of capital equipment for the warehouse and distribution functions. This includes building maintenance, racking, and material handling equipment.
  • Acts as a troubleshooter to assist in resolving day-to-day problems, as well as long-term resolution planning.
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels to minimize shrinkage, minimize loss, maximize revenues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for creating an effective DC culture which recognizes individual and team.
  • Maintains a safe and clean DC within H&S standards, with total DC safety record a reflection of efforts.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional team environment to facility projects, operational initiatives, and change management.

What You Need to Get the Job Done:


  • Relevant post-secondary education – e.g. University Degree or equivalent in Business or Supply Planning or Logistics
  • At least 5 years of proven hands-on leadership experience in a Distribution Centre or supply chain
  • Interpersonal skills – the ability to work well in a team, as well as to manage and motivate others
  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to think creatively
  • Skills in data analysis, including working with electronic data
  • Time management ability - ability to plan ahead on dealing with unexpected changes
  • Ability to lead team / process leadership in an ERP / WMS environment
