Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. The Role
This role is responsible for shaping and supporting the development and execution of Cameco’s media and public relations strategies.
In this role, you will:
- Managing Cameco’s relationship with media and serving as the company’s spokesperson for media inquiries and interview requests
- Researching emerging issues to prepare appropriate corporate messaging and communications materials with the input of relevant subject matter experts
- Supporting the development and delivery of materials to meet Cameco’s public reporting and disclosure requirements in areas such as investor relations and regulatory affairs
- Leading and supporting the development and execution of proactive communication plans, key message campaigns and advertising strategies on a variety of subjects
- Overseeing Cameco’s website and social media channels
- Collaborating with colleagues from other departments on multi-disciplinary issues and files
- Representing Cameco on committees of various industry associations
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related discipline
- Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications, media relations, public relations, journalism or a related role
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- Previous experience within media and/or engaging with media
- Experience with managing websites and social media
- Superior writing and verbal communication skills, including writing speeches and presentation
Recommended:
- Experience in a corporate setting, particularly a publicly traded company
- Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably nuclear energy or mining
- Experience dealing with government and regulatory agencies
