about this team
Reporting to the director of global Indirect Tax, you will be responsible for all North America Indirect Tax compliance matters. You will lead and manage on all compliance functions including filings and audits, and will support tax operations, strategic initiatives, and system implementations.
a day in the life
- Manage and oversee all compliance matters related to US multi-state sales and use tax, consumption tax, Canadian GST/HST/PST/QST.
- Lead the North America Indirect Tax team on all compliance functions.
- Provide tax compliance requirements for strategic business activities and program expansion initiatives.
- Lead Indirect Tax recovery projects for the US and Canada.
- Lead internal and external tax audits, including all aspects of SOX compliance.
- Provide support and coordination for out-source compliance providers, jurisdictional audits, protests, and risk/reserve analysis for financial statements.
qualifications
- Professional accounting designation.
- 5+ years of Indirect Tax experience in both industry and tax advisory positions.
- Experience with US multi-state sales and use tax, and Canadian GST/HST/PST/QST.
- Experience with tax technology software (Vertex), and ERP systems.
- Significant experience in the retail and online sales environments.
- Familiar with global e-commerce taxation trends.
- Significant experience in a fast paced, growing environment, with continuous change.
- Experience supporting and/or leading Indirect Tax audits.
- Strong interpersonal skills in managing and developing a tax team.
