MANAGER OF HEALTH INFORMATION SERVICES - Full Time

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the delivery of Health care services which includes maintaining systems for a) the collection and storage, retrieval, and retention of Health Records; b) Chief Privacy Officer and FOI coordinator; and c) communications, registration disposition, and patient accounts in Admitting and Communications, in order to support the Mission of St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Requirements include:

• Diploma in Health Information Management / Health Record Administration

• Certification with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), member in good standing
• Training as Chief Privacy Officer / FOI coordinator
• Experience in Health Information Management
• Training and knowledge of managerial principles
• Experience in a computerized Health Records hospital environment. Experience with EPIC is preferred.
• Experience with Med2020 and Winrecs Coding System
• Knowledge and experience in information privacy laws, access and release of information
• Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Public Hospitals Act, PHIPA, PIPEDA & FIPPA.
• Experience with EPIC will be considered an asset.
