As the Manager of Performance Measurement and Reporting, you will focus on promoting equity and innovation in Performance Measurement, benchmarking, and performance reporting for the people of Calgary, Senior Leadership and City Council. The team's work will have a critical role in enhancing the overall excellence of the organization through high-profile cross-corporate initiatives aimed at improving service value while fostering a cohesive One City, One Voice culture. Primary duties include:
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professional staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional development and growth.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity and ensure team members have the resources they need to succeed.
- Collaborate closely with organizational partners and leaders to develop strategies that align with organization goals and objectives and address contentious issues. Build trust with leaders to ensure that your approach and recommendations are supported for implementation.
- Lead the preparation of, or supervise the preparation of, high-quality reports and presentations for Council and senior executive committees. Ensure all reports and presentations are accurate, well-organized, and effectively communicate complex information in a way that is easy to understand.
- Develop and implement strategies to foster a culture of collaboration and cooperation and ensure that all parties are engaged and informed throughout the process.
- Evaluate and continually improve the team's approach and processes to ensure ongoing effectiveness and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide direction and coordination for the Business Unit as part of the leadership team.
- A master's degree with at least 10 years of progressive, relevant experience, including formal leadership and supervisory experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Previous experience with corporate Performance Measurement and project management is required.
- A strong understanding and technical knowledge of Performance Measurement, reporting, innovative approaches, and frameworks.
- Experience in preparing or overseeing the preparation of high-quality reports and presentations for senior executives and/or the public is required.
- Extensive management experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment is essential.
- Experience with emerging Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, presenting content through online channels, and Results-Based Accountability (RBA) approach would be an asset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an established record of collaboration across diverse partner groups are required.
- Success in this position requires excellent strategic, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
- A proven ability to deal with organizational dynamics and politics effectively in large, complex organizations is required, with an understanding of the complexities of decision-making in the public sector.
