Job Title: Manager, Precision Technology Support

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reporting To: Vice President, Product Support

The Manager, Precision Technology Support is responsible for managing and supporting RME’s Precision Specialist’s across our dealer network. This group supports the sale of Agriculture Equipment and any customer with Precision Farming needs through providing technology expertise and value-added services to our customer base. This is achieved through extensive employee product training, strategic objectives and high-touch customer service. The Precision Specialist group is tasked to be the subject matter experts on all things related to precision farming applications and equipment optimization, and works in concert with RME’s AfterMarket departments to provide an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all planning, administration and support management issues of the RME’s Precision Specialists team; this currently includes a team of 18 geographically dispersed among RME’s dealer network;
  • Ability to be anticipatory with departmental staffing needs, and using aggressive recruiting responses to any departmental turnover
  • Ensure staff is trained congruent with certification standards and monitor their performance and progress, as well as Communicate with other departments, staff groups and customers;
  • Develop business by gaining new products or services, analyzing problems and producing new solutions;
  • Drive business performance by reviewing productivity levels along with branch; Branch Sales Manager and other branch leaders
  • Ensure that each Precision Specialist is delivering on expectations that every piece of applicable equipment that RME sells is as perfect and set up to be as effective as possible for our customer’s needs;
  • Have RME network wide insight and understanding of each regional and RME’s market as whole;
  • Hold the Precision Specialists accountable to maintain margins and help them to manage the technology parts inventory;
  • Work closely with sales team to ensure that the Precision team is providing the necessary support to the discipline;
  • Ensure that the Precision team is helping sales managers/staff to resolve product quality or performance issues for customers and dealers within specified timeframe;
  • Ensure the Precision team is routinely engaged in RME’s technology community to provide expertise and solutions for customers and staff across the RME network;
  • Communicate regularly with the branch managers and sales professionals on Precision activity across the organization; Including news, updates, changes to product offerings
  • Stay abreast to new knowledge relative to various machine settings for application conditions/crops and provide recommendations based on analyzed information gathered from knowledge;
  • Be an active and highly visible participant in precision agriculture industry groups and events;
  • Keep abreast of competitive activity and competitive precision products and technology;
  • Proactively formulate and implement internal and customer based training;
  • Administer CNH’s precision farming certification program for all of RME with the assistance of the Training & Development department;
  • Develop annual OEM business/strategic plans;
  • Responsible for meeting annual targets for optimizing whole goods, parts revenue and service/support;
  • Assist the branch in expanding its customer base through the support and sale of precision farming products;
  • Ensure compliance with safety, training, tooling, personnel and any other requirements as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with AFS/PLM and other precision products and systems including but not limited to: set up and maintenance of GPS/GLONASS application control, guidance, telematics, precision systems, section control, mapping, and variable rate in cab technology;
  • 5 plus years of experience in a managerial role ideally working with direct reports that work in the field at a geographical distance
  • 2-4 yrs. experience in an agriculture-related role;
  • Technical and operational competency with agricultural equipment;
  • A positive customer oriented attitude and the ability to work with a wide range of personality types;
  • Flexibility of working hours during seeding, spraying and harvest;
  • An ability to work in a group environment with the customer needs at the forefront of all decision
  • A proven ability to speak and present information in a group environment
  • Proven leadership and mentorship of individuals to ensure appropriate staffing, training and employee development
  • Strong and proven project and time management skills
  • Selling and or sales related strategies and behaviors
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 50% throughout the Prairies

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Agriculture role: 3 years (preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Calgary, AB: Relocate before starting work (preferred)
