St. Joseph’s General Hospital Elliot Lake (SJGHEL) is seeking a Manager, Quality, Risk and Collaborative Practiceto join our leadership team. This is a newly created role, and the salary is currently under review and will be assessed after one year. The Manager will be reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive/VP – Quality and Clinical Services, and will provide leadership for Patient Relations, Legal and Risk, Quality and Safety, and Infection, Prevention and Control. The Manager will perform the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards relating to quality improvement, risk management and patient safety, and consistent with SJGHEL’s Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. They will ensure that the organization’s infection prevention and control program meets regulatory requirements and is in line with the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) standards that promotes best practice in the safety of patients, staff, volunteers, visitors, and physicians of SJGHEL.
As a systems thinker the successful candidate will utilize their expertise to bring innovation into the planning and implementation of strategies, programs, and initiatives in achieving SJGHEL strategic goals, and will collaborate with various stakeholders to support excellence in patient care. Leveraging superior communication and interpersonal skills they will develop partnerships at all levels in the organization and foster strong relationships. The Manager will lead by example and utilize their change management skills to support departmental and organizational change and foster a high performing and engaged culture committed to continuous improvement.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and/or Professional Certification in a related field. A Master’s degree in Health Care Quality, Emergency Management, Law, Health, Nursing Administration or a related healthcare field is preferred. The successful candidate must also have three (3) years’ experience working in a system impact role within a health care environment with a focus in Process Improvement, Quality & Patient Safety, Risk Management and Professional Practice and experience leading successful change through leadership of others to meet organizational goals.
