Position Objective

To achieve and maintain sales, profitable growth, and customer satisfaction. The Sales Representative will be responsible for maintaining and developing existing customer relationships and create new partnerships with prospective customers.

What you will do in a typical day:

• Meet customers, negotiate prices within guidelines, discounts, credit terms and transport arrangements with a focus on profit
• Open the market each day ensuring there is enough product on the floor and properly set up samples on the sales floor
• Create new opportunities for sales growth on the selling floor
• Sell fresh fruits and vegetables to wholesale, retail, institutional and food service customers
• Maintain good communication and working relationships with customers, buyers, and warehouse workers, data admin., logistics, and all other internal colleagues
• Study, analyze, and understand the produce market keeping up to date of changes and trends
• Intimately know the customer and pricing at the market. Provide feedback on prices and products
• Keep current on daily selling prices, incoming inventories and stock on hand
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints
• Ensure timely delivery and product quality through accurate billing, customer follow-up, accurate orders, etc.
• Conduct product sampling to entice and secure customer purchases.
• Assess house product supply, price and quality. Ensure floor plan and quality is checked in aisle of responsibility
• Ensure product turn to avoid shrink and attract customers with best product
• Ensure accurate recording of SKUs, prices and lot numbers, etc.
• Ensure all invoices are clearly recorded and legible for data entry team

What you will need to succeed at Burnac:
At minimum, you will need:

• Post- secondary education in Business or related field an asset.
• Experience in the fresh produce business an asset.
• Retail/wholesale produce sales experience.
• Strong computer literacy skills.
• Strong management skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to resolve problems and implement solutions.
