Reporting to System Leader, Mental Health and Professional Support Services, the Manager, Speech-Language Pathology Services will have responsibility for the effective delivery of speech-language Pathology Services, as described in the service delivery plan for Professional Support Services.
Summary of Duties:
➢ Hire, supervise and monitor performance of speech-language Pathology Services staff;
➢ Allocate staff to Learning Centres and special programs;
➢ Monitor and authorize budget expenditures within established parameters;
➢ Consult with staff regarding case issues;
➢ Work collaboratively with special education services regarding IPRC’s, ISA 1 claims and other priorities;
➢ Implement regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development initiatives and provide leadership to staff to promote an understanding of the service delivery model for speech-language Pathology Services;
➢ Consult with schools, school officials and parents regarding delivery of speech-language Pathology Services and to resolve issues or concerns about these services;
➢ Manage all aspects of speech- language pathology files as required by RHPA and the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario;
➢ Liaise with the System Leader to maintain an ongoing understanding of student, school, and community needs for psychological services;
➢ Liaise with outside agencies including CCAC and hospitals regarding provision of service; and
➢ Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
➢ Post-graduate degree in speech-language pathology and registration as a speech-language pathologist in the province of Ontario, with four to seven years in a supervisory position in a special education environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
➢ Successful experience as a speech-language pathologist within a school setting;
➢ Administrative and supervisory experience within a school board speech-language pathology;
➢ Good analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information;
➢ Ability to conceptualize situations in order to resolve problems; and
➢ Proven ability to assist diverse communities in understanding the purposes and possible outcomes of involvement by speech-language Pathology Services.
Special Requirements:
➢ Provision of own vehicle for Board business. Require travel across the TDSB.
Location: 1 Civic Centre Court (Hybrid Work Eligible)
