About the Position

ITS is looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented, and organized leader to join our growing team as our Manager of Sustainability. This role will be at the forefront of setting the direction and executing the company’s sustainability plan across all team members, services, and locations. Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Marketing, the Manager of Sustainability will be the subject matter expert and point of contact for all related sustainability programs, continuously promoting adoption across the organization, and interfacing with our customers. This role is highly cross-functional with success dependent upon building relationships and driving results. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with industry best practices and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and prioritize key areas for improvement throughout our operations, including transportation, warehousing/fulfillment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable solutions, such as reducing carbon emissions, optimizing fuel efficiency, and alternative fuels.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, including clients, carriers, educational institutes, and suppliers, to promote sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
  • Track and measure the environmental impact of our operations, along with our vendors and partners, and report on progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Innovate, conduct research, and stay current on emerging trends and best practices in supply chain sustainability.
  • Develop and maintain internal sustainability policies and procedures.
  • Build awareness and knowledge of sustainability among team members, vendors and customers through training and communication initiatives.
  • Represent ITS and our commitment at industry events and strategic meetings related to sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, marketing, communications, business management, or other related field preferred. Training/certification or equivalent experience may be substituted. 
  • 5+ years related experience in sustainability, communication and training, or logistics/supply chain. 
  • Highly strategic, dynamic leader and self-starter, skilled at managing multiple stakeholders and impacting change through influence and relationships.
  • Strong communicator, with stronger information-seeking and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess a true passion for making an impact in sustainability in our business, industry, and the world while also making strategic business cases for these initiatives. 
  • Strong program management skills while demonstrating a creative and energetic spirit!
