You are a reliable, self-assured Mercury Marine Mechanic with a positive attitude that motivates those around you, and the confidence to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of marine watercraft and vessel systems. You love to continuously learn and grow and are never afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. You are a reliable, punctual, hands-on learner who is excited to be a part of our growing team!
A Day In The Life
In this dynamic role, you will perform various duties related to marine vessel upkeep, including:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems on board
- Reading through repair and installation orders to determine the material, time, and equipment required
- Regular inspection and testing of engines, drives, steering mechanisms, and other mechanical systems on board
- Servicing outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines including generators
- Testing engines, steering, navigational equipment, and plumbing systems on board
- Liaising and consulting with the supervisor, technical support, and relevant professionals and vendors, as necessary
- A Marine Mechanic certificate or relevant experience
- Mercury Marine Certification for Outboard & Sterndrive
- Minimum 5 years in the Marine industry is preferred
- Familiarity with M&P Mercury product lines or interest in gaining this knowledge
- Pleasure Craft Operators Card is a bonus in this role
- Experience with diesel engines is an asset
- Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong self-discipline
- Demonstrated strong hand-eye coordination and ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Practical experience with tools and equipment used in marine maintenance
- Must have their own tools and a valid driver’s license
