RPM Marina, a well-known and reputable marina with 4 locations in the Kennisis Lake, Haliburton, Minden Hills and Balsam Lake has an immediate opening for a has an immediate opening for a Marine & Power-sports mechanic/technician.
The qualified applicant will possess the necessary skills as well as a minimum of 1 year experience as a mechanic at a marina or 3-5 year of relevant experience.
Skills & Experience:
Working in a fast-paced environment, the ideal Marine Mechanic candidate is dependable, efficient and works well in a team environment, in all weather conditions. (Must be able to work some weekends during high season and high business demands periods.)
Previous experience and previous brand specific training, I.e., Kawasaki, Mercury etc. (We pay for upgrading and training provided by suppliers.) and a valid Boat License would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot two and four stroke marine engines and powersports equipment.
- Remove and replace engine components as necessary on powersports and marine vehicles.
- Remove and replace defective frame and body parts, using hand tools, arbor presses, flexible power presses, or other tools.
- Perform preventive and regular maintenance, according to manufacturer specifications.
- Compose repair estimates for internal and external customers.
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional recommended services.
- Prepare list of required parts and labor times for each job.
- Safely and effectively operate shop and diagnostic tools.
- Explain diagnostic test results to Service Manager, and if necessary, the customer.
- Perform test rides well as any other necessary tests.
- Must be able to work outside in all-weather climates during all seasons.
- Flexibility to work at all locations.
- Must follow all safety rules and guidelines, as determined by management.
Job Type: Full- time, year round
Compensation: 20-35$ / hour – wage is dependent on experience
