We are currently looking for a team-oriented full-time Material Handlerto join ourteam.
Job Summary:
The Material Handler is a critical role in making lean processes function smoothly by having material flow continuously and is responsible for packaging, shipping, and receiving material in a timely and organized manner. The Material Handler works closely with Purchasing to ensure the material received is the correct specification and communicate and discrepancies to ensure proper resolution.
The responsibilities for the Material Handler will include:
- Receive and identify incoming material and enter data into the ERP system.
- Delivery of raw material and purchased components to set locations.
- Responsible for the logistics of “in-process” material.
- Prepare shipments and documents for heat treat, coating, and material processing.
- Remove and dispose of scrap steel from the manufacturing team, as per schedule.
- Work closely with manufacturing team as well as purchasing to ensure material discrepancies and issues with incoming vendor orders are resolved.
- Maintain company vehicles’ weekly inspection.
Education, Skills and Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G license and clean driver’s abstract; DZ driver’s license considered an asset.
- Understanding of shop floor processes and shipping procedures.
- General ability to read blueprints and routings.
- Strong computer skills.
- Organized self-starter and able to communicate well.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to dirt and noise in a manufacturing environment.
- Standing for long hours and extended walking periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
