The Material Handler assists in the safe and efficient operation of the Manufacturing Facility by loading, unloading, and moving materials, both manually and with a forklift.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves with lift trucks or by hand.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage.
- Transfers all materials from storage or work sites to designated areas in a safe manner.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and takes a load to destination.
- Counts, weighs, and records the number of units of materials moved or handled.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist.
- Clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
- Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Remove all scrap bins, cardboard, and trash pails, as needed to maintain a tidy environment.
- Ensures placement of materials and products in work areas such as Extruders or CNCs is done to maximize the production process.
- Timely and accurate loading and unloading of materials as directed.
- Maintaining a safe pathway to transport materials to and from destinations within the facility.
- Prioritizes and plans work; accordingly, uses time efficiently and makes timely decisions.
- Other duties as required.
- Proof of past/current Forklift/Tow Motor Certification.
- Previous related experience and/or training.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds.

- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally may maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include but are not limited to close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to stand continuously for the duration of the scheduled shift.
