Material Handler – Warehouse Assistant

As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager and enthusiastic experienced Material Handler – Warehouse Assistantto join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing industry.

SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Assistant will operate the manual ‘Walkie’ ride-on pallet jack to transport and maneuver goods within the warehouse. Additionally, ensure inventory accuracy & utilize shop floor controls. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

The pay rate during the first 6 months contract is: $20.87/h. Then the pay will increase to $21.12/h when the hire joins the union and will have access to company benefits (2 weeks paid vacation, RRSP and health benefits)

We have 1 Vacancy for the Afternoon Shift (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm)

ROLE:

• Safely and efficiently operate a ride-on pallet jack to transport and maneuver goods within the warehouse.
• Ensure there are accurate inventory levels, and discrepancies are immediately reported to Management.
• Cycle count parts inventory as required.
• Ensure parts are in proper locations and conduct searches for misclassified inventory.
• Verify parts received are being consolidated and put away accurately.
• Maintain parts identification, location, and labels.
• Will gain knowledge of product and storage locations within the facility and outside the warehouse.
• Skilled in anticipating, identifying, and troubleshooting problems.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on the ride-on pallet jack to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, adhering to weight limits and other regulations, and reporting any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Good mathematical skills
• Computer and/or data entry skills; experience with shop floor control preferred.
• Good judgement & responsible
• Manual dexterity – ability to use common tools
• Good interpersonal and communicative skills

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3 years experience in a warehousing/manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience operating a ride-on push pallet jack preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
• Written and oral aptitude in English
• Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
• Conscientious and punctual
