As a Materials Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination of material testing activities with field technicians, and work in collaboration with laboratory staff, engineers, and project managers.

The Opportunity
ParklandGEO Ltd. is growing and in need of a Materials Coordinator to help support our Materials division in Red Deer, Alberta. Scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating between field technicians and client needs will be your primary responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule materials testing.
- Ensure client scope and delivery of testing and results are meet.
- Collaborate with other departments to work on prioritizing needs.
- Train, follow up and verify competency of field technicians.
- Ensure all testing documentation are in strict accordance with engineering and CCIL standards.
- Stay up to date, follow, and communicate CCIL, RSO, and OH&S standards and regulations to field staff.
- Monitor and ensure quality and accurate testing is being completed in the field.
- Work with clients on expectations and concerns in a positive and professional manner.
- Collaborate and support fleet management, inspections, and maintenance.
- Be an independent analytical thinker, anticipate, troubleshoot, and solve problems as they arise.
- Adhere, monitor, and practice health and safety requirements.
- Adhere, monitor, and practice CNSC requirements with density gauges and follow all necessary documentation and instruction.
- Be a company ambassador in dealings with clients, vendors, and third-party contractors.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of construction experience.
- 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Previous scheduling or dispatching would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a geotechnical, environmental, or material engineering and testing firm would be considered a strong asset.
- Willingness to learn the industry, follow and adhere to strict guidelines.
- Adept at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and dealing with conflict.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- A solid grasp of the English written and spoken language and can demonstrate excellent comprehension.
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home on occasion.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.
- Effective people skills with a proven ability to manage clients and technical staff.
- Team orientated with a commitment to safety excellence.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license, insurable and able to provide a 3-year driving abstract.

Salary: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
