About the OpportunityEriez Flotation has a full-time career opportunity for a Mechanical Designer to join our team in Delta, BC on a hybrid work model. Occasional international travel may be required.
As our Mechanical Designer, you will be developing designs, drawings, and standardizations of EFD-Canada products.
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Develop designs and prepare drawings/models using Autodesk Inventor from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data
- Design machinery, tanks, pressure vessels, and process piping
- Prepare P&ID diagrams and equipment layouts
- Assist in estimating weights, material quantities, preparing sketches, and checking bill of materials
- Prepare and assist in the timely release of drawings and documentation for products and projects
- Assist in the inspection of parts and equipment in our shop and out-of-town/country facilities
- Participate in the installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment
To qualify, you must have 7+ years of related design experience. We also require a diploma in mechanical design and registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT).
In addition, you must have the knowledge, skills, or experience in the following:
- Intermediate or greater knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro software latest edition
- Intermediate or greater knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD latest edition
- Experience within the boiler/gas industry, or equipment manufacturing
