Reporting to the CFO, the role of Manager, FP&A and Reporting handles the planning and monthly financial management process for the consolidated reporting for Mediabrands and Kinesso Canada. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, explaining, and following up on all actual variances against budgets/forecasts, as well as assisting in preparing budgets and forecasts within the deadlines. This role involves substantial interaction and collaboration with the client account leads as well as with other team members, including the finance teams, and a strong ability to manage business issues, as well as, proactively provide recommendations to improve efficiency and/or internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with various business units to consolidate financial information for multiple Mediabrands and Kinesso Canada entities and prepare detailed analysis during month-end, quarter-end, year-end and forecasting periods.
- Present financial analysis and presentations to local and global finance teams on Mediabrands and Kinesso Canada consolidated performance.
- Work with the global finance leads, the Brand VPs, Finance leads and CFO to evaluate and assist on cost allocations and financial target setting.
- Assist CFO in the preparation of global and local financial and business presentations (monthly, quarterly, and year-end).
- Network with internal finance stakeholders to gain understanding of the various business units across the Mediabrands and Kinesso portfolio.
- Provide analysis of risks and recommendations on opportunities.
- Prepare annual financial reports and variance analyses for multiple stakeholders.
- Prepare, investigate and resolve all variances by working with planning VP's (e.g. current vs. forecast, current vs. prior years, quarter vs quarter, etc.).
- Analyze results on client profitability, employee utilization, and staff allocations to identify any issues and make recommendations for performance improvements, or efficiencies where applicable.
- Proactively identify and communicate insights to various stakeholders and tailoring the information as necessary, particularly at the senior level.
- Proactively present well-researched ideas to streamline and improve upon existing processes, and/or provide innovative analytical insights.
- Evaluate client credit (AR) insurance requirements, request coverage, and make declarations as required.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned.
- Post-secondary education - University Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Minimum of five (5) years' financial or accounting related experience, preferably media agency, marketing or advertising related industry experience.
- Strong ability to manage confidential data and act with discretion.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
