Job Type: Contract Part-time role (Maternity Leave Coverage until December 2024)- possibility of part-time permanent thereafter

Days needed: (approximate days , subject to change) Thursdays, Fridays, and two half day Saturdays per month.

Summary
The Medical Aesthetician is a key clinical position at our clinic; you will have a positive outlook and careful attention to detail. The primary role of the Medical Aesthetician is to provide comprehensive aesthetic consultations and treatment using a variety of our less invasive technologies. This includes facials, chemical peels, Silkpeel hydrofacial, Laser Hair Removal, Clear + Brilliant, DermaPen Micro-needling, and BTL’s Vanquish. The Medical aesthetician will be familiar with common skin care concerns such as aging, acne, rosacea and melasma and be able to formulate pharmaceutical grade skincare treatment plans accordingly.

The Medical Aesthetician will work collaboratively with our team of highly experienced laser technicians, nurse injectors and the administrative team. You will report to the Clinic Manager and Medical Director. ArtMed is a community of practice that supports a collegial and collaborative workplace environment.

Role Description

Consultations: In a professional manner you will consult with clients to determine their skin care needs and aesthetic goals. You will be familiar with all treatment options available at ArtMed and be able to speak confidently about them. You will formulate treatment plans that optimize treatment outcomes while respecting patient budget and downtime. You will decide which services can be combined to reach those goals. You will develop individualized home care treatment plans based on pharmaceutical grade retail products available at ArtMed including Vivier, AlumierMD and Alastin. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to develop comprehensive treatment plans. You will cross refer to colleagues at ArtMed when indicated. You will employ Canfield Visia Photoanalysis during your consultations for purposes of documentation and to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.

Treatments that will be performed:

• Canfield Visia Skin Analysis
• Facial Treatments (Chemical Peels, European Facial, Silkpeel)
• Skin Texture treatments (DermaPen, Clear & Brilliant)
• Laser hair removal including intimate areas female and male
• Intimate lightening treatments
• Chemical Peels
• Acne Treatments
• Body Contouring treatments (Vanquish and Cellutone)

Other duties when required include but not limited to: Assisting clients with product purchases, regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facility, occasional housekeeping, laundry, restocking.

Assist with in-house marketing including social media and events (setting up and tearing down).

Background - Mandatory

Certification and/or Diploma as a Medical Aesthetician/Laser Technician (Laser & Light Therapy from an accredited institution or college)

Certification and/or Diploma Advanced Level Training in Skin Care Therapies (Chemical Peels, Facials)

Not Mandatory but an asset:

Experience providing services listed above

Familiarity with Vivier, AlumierMD and Alastin skin care lines

Start Date

Training to start as soon as possible, regular hours to begin after training

REMUNERATION - Monetary

base starting at $22/hr negotiable (commensurate with experience)

Plus sliding scale commission starting at 2.5% on services

Plus commission 20% of net on product sales (pooled among staff)
