Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Position:Mill Operator - Leadhand
Schedule: 14x14 Rotation
Position Reports To: Mill Supervisor
Role Summary
The role of the Mill Operatior - Leadhand is to ensure the safe and effecitve operation of all areas within the mill and supporting the Mill Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the safe & efficient operation of all areas in the mill
Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
Ensure that guidelines are adhered to
Inspect the circuits regularly to detect any trouble spots and have them corrected as quickly as possible
Advise the supervisor of any problem areas
Maintain a clean and safe work area
As time allows, be available for training in different areas of the mill
Change circuits on a regular basis to gain experience within the plant
Mentor less experienced staff on all milling circuits
Act in the Mill Supervisor's role when they are absent or otherwise occupied
Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent
3 plus years in milling environment
Previous experience working in the mill or industrial environment is considered an asset
Good oral and written communication skills
Proficient with computer and computer based equipment
Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
