Mower Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, the Mower Operator is responsible to perform mowing along Municipal District roadways and drainage ditches.

MAJOR

· Operation of tractor and mower.

· Perform maintenance and minor repairs of unit.

MINOR

· Change mower blades as required.

· Clear debris from roadside diches.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform the duties listed above to a high degree of quality, timeliness and precision.

· A minimum of 1 year experience in equipment operation.

· Class 5 driver’s license.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Good verbal and listening communication skills.

· Mechanical aptitude.

· Use and operation of a vehicle.

· Must be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

· Ability to interpret, implement and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

· Moderate physical effort; occasional heavy lifting.

· Extensive use and operation of a vehicle and equipment.

· Subject to working in outdoor environment – heat, cold, dry, dusty and / or wet conditions as well as insects, bees and wildlife.

· Hazards associated with working alongside roadways.

· Normal working day consists of 7.5 hours; however overtime may be required.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

· All personnel working at the Municipal District of Greenview are governed by the Municipal District Health & Safety Policy.

· Ensures all operations are conducted in a safe manner and in accordance with Municipal District Policies and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.

· Required to wear correct Personal Protective Equipment as per safe job procedures.

· Safety vest when on site or roadway.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: From $27.99 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
