What is the opportunity?

The Municipal Finance department is looking to add an Associate to the Business Management team, Based in New York City.

What will you do?

  • Serve as an immediate support resource, in coordination with the Business Manager, for the Head of Municipal Finance on any matter that requires quantitative or technical analysis.
  • Produce presentations for the Municipal Finance Operating Committee (MFOC) to present both internally (to business partners and senior management) and externally (to regulators, industry associations, etc.)
  • Support Municipal Finance Operating Committee and Business Manager in developing near term and long-term business plans, strategies and operating budgets
  • On-going support for various ad-hoc strategic initiatives and internal management meetings (including business review meetings; weekly operating committee meetings)
  • Weekly revenue and pipeline maintenance: work with Business Management and the sector leaders and office managers to understand revenue and expense details
  • Coordinate risk deliverables throughout the year as they pertain to Municipal Finance
  • Assist in annual budgeting and planning process
  • Help to coordinate annual performance review process
  • To facilitate business operations, along with Business Manager, by effectively partnering with functional resources including Marketing, Communications, Compliance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Corporate Real Estate.
  • Support Municipal Banking staff on a regular basis on inquiries regarding firm and functional support groups’ resources
  • Assist in maintenance of the content on internal department Sharepoint and external webpage
  • Organize and produce material for monthly department and quarterly management conference calls
  • Partner with Marketing group to assist with email and print advertising campaigns
  • Distribute monthly transaction reports to office and sector heads
  • Review and approve daily and monthly reported revenue

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or equivalent with emphasis in finance/accounting or management a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in a financial institution or management consulting firm
  • Must be advanced with Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, Sharepoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Project management mind-set and approach
  • Knowledge of Municipal Finance and Tax Credit Equity product set preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and high pressure environment
  • Comfort and confidence interacting with Senior Leaders and management
  • Extremely detail oriented and analytical
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills
  • Team player

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $125,000 - $140,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.  This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
