Position Overview:
The National Key Account Manager will play a crucial role in our organization by actively monitoring and managing Key Accounts within the cannabis industry. This position is responsible for ensuring that these accounts meet and exceed growth targets while maintaining strong relationships. The National Key Account Manager will collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure that the unique needs of Key Accounts are met, and their expectations are exceeded. It will be their responsibilities to create new relationships within their territory while also servicing existing accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Take the lead in creating quarterly plans for Key Accounts that outline the agreed-upon brand and consumer strategies and ensure that these plans align with our business objectives.
- Evaluate all promotional spending by account priority through Trade Development, analyzing performance and implementing necessary corrective actions to enhance business growth.
- Outperform both our established plans and competitors by increasing net sales value, growing market share, and boosting sales volume.
- Ensure the seamless execution of the promotional calendar across all stores within selected Key Accounts.
- Ensure timely approval of new items, innovation brands, and SKUs.
- Actively engage in strategy briefing sessions with the commercialization team, providing continuous feedback on program execution and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Sales Management and Trade Marketing to develop account-specific presentations and establish distribution and merchandising promotion execution goals.
- Analyze competitive activities to generate insights that will give us a competitive advantage in the market.
- Set and achieve goals on an account-by-account basis, while also managing accurate sales forecasting activities and budgeting plans.
- Continuously assess the results of plans by channel, Key Account, and individual customer to stay current and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports as applicable.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align Key Account needs with marketing strategies.
- Communicate Key Account requirements to the marketing team to ensure they are fully met.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
- Use market insights to identify growth opportunities and provide recommendations to Key Accounts.
- Negotiate and renew contracts with Key Accounts, ensuring favorable terms for both parties.
- Handle pricing negotiations and other contractual agreements, as necessary.
- Prepare regular reports on Key Account performance, including sales data, market trends, and growth projections. Present reports to senior management and Key Account partners.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by Key Accounts promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Regularly visit licensed cannabis retailers in your territory to further support the growth of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related (preferred).
- 3-4 years’ experience in a Sales Representative/Territory Manager role or related experience
- 2+ years in a management position
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and MS Office, CRM, other sales platforms.
- Strong understanding of cannabis products, market dynamics, and regulations.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results oriented.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
